BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- Officials say they conducted a traffic stop Thursday afternoon that resulted in finding half a pound of meth in possession of Maurice Boyd.

Through further investigation police obtained and executed a search warrant at Boyd's residence.

Police found and seized an additional 2 pounds of Mexican methamphetamine, over $14,000 in cash and 3 handguns.

Boyd has been charged with trafficking a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and taken to the Warren County Regional Jail.

On Monday, September 23, 2019 Charles Hubbard, 57 years old of Pineville, Ky, was sentenced to 96 months in federal prison.

This conviction comes after a year-long investigation by Detectives from Appalachia Narcotics Investigations where he was caught on three separate occasions in Harlan and Bell County with a total of 225 grams of crystal meth.

On Thursday July 11, 2019 former Knox County Magistrate, Jerry “Rabbit” Cox, was arrested on a federal indictment warrant for six counts of Distribution of Controlled Substances – Hydrocodone. 

Mr. Cox turned himself over to the custody of the DEA at 11:00 this morning in the London Kentucky area. He is being held as a federal prisoner in the Laurel County Corrections Center and no bond is showing as of 12:25pm Thursday July 11th.

MT. STERLING, Ky. (WKYT) - The Mount Sterling Police Department says a drug task force has arrested nine people involved in a large drug trafficking operation.

The police department is part of the Appalachia High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Gateway Area Drug Task Force, which conducted a months-long investigation into the drug activity, leading to the arrests on Tuesday.

The task force conducted search warrants in Montgomery and Fayette counties to dismantle the drug trafficking organization. The suspects are from Montgomery, Fayette and Pike counties.

BELL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - Thursday, members of Appalachia Narcotics Investigations executed search and arrest warrants in the Walls End area of Pineville.

Officials say after several months of investigation, 25-year-old Timothy Marroquin of Middlesboro and 24-year-old Lindsey Saylor of Pineville were arrested on several counts of trafficking of a controlled substance, conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance and engaging in organized crime.

About 12 ounces of suspected crystal meth, which has a street value of $33,000, was found at the home during the search.

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) -- UPDATE:

Officials have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Taron Wells of Bowling Green. Both he and the infant were taken to the Medical Center after the rollover. The infant has sustained no injuries, officials say.

Wells was released and is being booked at the Warren County Jail.

Authorities say Wells is facing trafficking and felony charges.

The investigation is ongoing.

A police chase ends with a crash in Bowling Green.

RICHMOND - In the past two and a half months that Sgt. Scott King has been the Director of the Madison County Drug Task Force, their group has seized more than 3,000 grams of methamphetamine that was either in, or had trafficking involvement, within the county.

The county drug task force, is a part of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) program, an initiative within the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) that allows local, state and federal departments to combine and use resources to help combat high drug traffic areas in the region, state and nation.

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - During a traffic stop south of London Wednesday morning, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department, along with the London office of Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), seized a large amount of crystal methamphetamine and charged three people with possession with intent to distribute of meth.

The traffic stop happened around 10:22 a.m. off Hwy. 770 after the Laurel County Sheriff's Department and the London DEA developed information on a large amount of crystal methamphetamine headed into Laurel County.

Bowling Green, KY - Just two days after a 23-year-old Bowling Green woman was found unconscious near a car on Park Street, the man accused of selling the drug leading to her apparent fatal overdose is in federal custody.

Damone Domonique Bell, 22, is charged in U.S. District Court with distribution of heroin and possession with intent to distribute heroin, according to a criminal complaint filed against him by David Hayes, an agent of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Hayes is assigned to the Bowling Green-Warren County Drug Task Force.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (WAVE) - Five people have been arrested on drug charges after search warrants were served in two counties following an investigation that lasted several months.

The Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force had been investigating the trafficking of crystal meth. Detectives say more than 18 pounds of crystal meth had been bought and sold in and around Hardin, Bullitt, LaRue and Hart counties during the investigation.
